Cub Scout Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation

BASIC ADULT LEADER OUTDOOR

ORIENTATION (BALOO)

 

This training is targeted toward all Cub Scout Leaders and parents who have minimal camping experience but want to plan and carry out an entry level outdoor experience for their pack.  The goal of the training is to provide participants with the knowledge on how to conduct a fun, safe, and successful pack camping trip.

Who:        All Cub Scout leaders who want to have a great pack outdoor program.  Remember each Pack must have at least ONE LEADER who is BALOO trained at any Pack overnighter in order to conduct a camp out as a part of their outdoor program.

When:     Saturday, September 24, 2016– Rain or Shine!!

Time:      Registration is at 8 a.m. E.S.T.  Training is from 9:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m. E.S.T

Where:   Camp Pine Mountain

Cost:       Registration is $25 per person by September 22, 2016.  No onsite registration will be allowed.  This fee includes snacks, lunch (hamburger foil pack), and training handouts

What to Wear:     A complete Official BSA Field (Class A) Uniform is the appropriate attire

What to Bring:    Pen/pencil, rain gear (just in case) and folding camp chair

How to Register for BALOO:  1.  Register and pay online at http://2016baloofall.kintera.org/ OR 2.  Call the Council Office to register for the August BALOO training at 706-327-2634.

Travel Interstate 185 north, to the Hamilton exit (Exit 25, GA-116) Exit the Interstate. At the stop sign turn left and travel west on GA HWY 116. Continue 13 miles, Ga-116 becomes Ga-103. You will pass Johnson Controls corporation on your right. Make a left onto old West Point Road. As you start down the hill, turn into the first driveway on your left.

Travel Interstate 85, south, to Exit 2 the West Point exit. Exit the Interstate. At the stop sign turn left and travel east on GA HWY 18 approximately one half mile. Turn right on to GA HWY 103 (first road to the right). Go approximately two miles and turn right onto old West Point Road (this is the second paved road to your right after turning on to GA HWY 103). As you start down the hill, turn into the first driveway on your left. 

 

 

 

From Auburn/Opelika:

 

 

 

Travel Interstate 85, north, to the West Point exit. Exit the Interstate at exit 2. At the stop sign turn right and travel east on GA HWY 18 approximately one half mile. Turn right onto GA HWY 103 (first road to the right). Go approximately two miles and turn right onto old West Point Road (this is the second paved road to your right after turning on to GA HWY 103). As you start down the hill, turn into the first driveway on your left. 

Or enter N 32°51.701' W085°08.332 into you GPS system. On a Garmin, click "Where To?" then "Coordinates" enter above coordinates and click "Go!"
